Aspect and Weather
The boulder is significantly overhanging and is beneath the canopy level so you may be able to climb here even in full sun, but generally this area goes into the shade in late afternoon. For the same reasons it’ll probably stay dry during a lighter rainstorm.
Climbing
The climbing is short, crimpy and very bouldery! Different from the surrounding looming orange walls. Bring your steely fingers!
Base
The base of the boulder is relatively flat and is well protected from the sun by the surrounding forest. There are many hammock spots.
Approach
From the Tranquilitas campsite walk through the gap in the knee-high fence on the east side of the campsite and out towards the cliff. The Maxi tents will pass you on your right side. Follow the path to the edge and down into a gully using a log ladder. Scramble down about 50m further to find the Rubics Cube boulder on your left.
