Black Diedre takes the dark, West-facing corner that is visible from the path along the top of the cliff. This sector offers some of Monteseel’s best routes, on big, steep, clean faces.

All the climbs in this area start from a ledge system located about 10 m above the ground. Climbs in this area are best reached by abseil from the sloping ledge area at the top of Black Diedre. ie Cadenza, New Hoek, Gentle Aquarian, GeminiDream, Black Diedre, The Fire Still Remains and Free Ride.

A Cold Fact, Storm Bringer, Fingertrip Trip, Old Man’s Climbs, Youngsters Line, Lurkules, Generation Gap, Microphobia, Whippersnapper, Highball Shooter, Sister Morphine, and Slut can all be accessed by bolted abseil at the top of Old Man’s Direct. The chains are just over the edge, near a small tree.
