Humansdorp, a once flourishing farming centre in the 1800s , lies 88km West of Port Elizabeth at the base of the Kouga Mountains. It is the starting destination of South Africa's well known Garden route. The area is rich in culture and has a Kouga Cultural Centre that celebrates the ancestors who occupied the land more than a million years ago as well as the emergence of the fist modern people. Displays at this centre show Khoisan rock art, live traditional ceremonies.

The Boskloof area provides hiking trails through the forest with a variety of wildlife and fauna.
