Climbing
Key

The climate of Lesotho is affected by its altitude. Areas such as Southern and Western Lesotho are lower with  more grassland, while Northern Lesotho is higher with harsher conditions. The best rock-climbing seasons are Autumn and Spring with moderate temperatures and being drier, while the winter months offer surprisingly good Ice Climbing.

Seasons :

Wet season :

Summer takes place from October to March with high rainfall, regular thunderstorms and high temperatures. January is the hottest month with the lowlands reaching 30 °C. Lush and green landscapes due to the rainfall however heavy rainfall and storms can interfere with hiking trips and activities.

Dry Season :

Winter is generally dry from April to September with sunny daytime temps in the teens to low twenties but overnight temperatures are seen to drop well below freezing. Skiing and ice climbing might be available depending on the snowfall and conditions.
