This variation takes a fairly direct break up the final face after a direct finish on pitch 5 of the original route.
Climb the first four pitches of the original route (see above).
5. 30m (5c): Ascend an obvious crack above the previous pitch. Climb directly up the short overhanging crack at the top of this and continue up a few meters to a stance on the right.
6. 40m (6a+): Traverse right below the undercut bulge for a few meters until possible to pull up and leftwards onto the ramp-face. Climb up and leftwards on the ramp and rails, beneath an overhang, until the base of a short recess/corner is reached. Climb this and continue up fairly directly, through an overlap/bulge, to link up with a leftward-leaning flake/crack. Follow this until just below its top where it becomes necessary to move delicately on to the face immediately right of the flake. After a few thin moves, the angle eases off.
Continue to the top.
