Approach

Park across the road before the bridge (if you're heading in Ashton direction). Cross the road and turn left, walking parallel to the road for a short while and then head into the reeds and cross the river. Once you have crossed the river follow the obvious path to the left until past the rocky outcrop. Cairns will indicate where you leave the path to start walking up a hill. Follow the cairns zig zagging up the hill (tending left) until you are on the right of the ridge and the prominent pillar. Head up the rocky ridge for a bit before descending into the gully on the left (do not descend before the rocky ridge).
