Approach

There are two ways of approaching, both start in the top parking lot (by the reservoir) as for Main Crag.

  1. On reaching the dirt service road (5min), turn left (West) and follow this to the top/crest on the ridge. Continue a short distance (just as the path starts to descend) and veer back right along a path which now follows the ridge-line back East. Follow this until a flat rocky outcrop is reached, just past this a cairn indicates a junction allowing access to scramble down to the base of the Crag.
    A variation from the start of the walk: Follow signs to Elephants Eye arriving at the same point atop the ridge where you need to turn back right.
  2. Continue as for Main Crag and 15-20min in, instead of turning off right from the path running East-West along the ridge-line, continue along the path to the cairn indicating the scramble down (obviously from this direction the cairn is just BEFORE the flat rocky outcrop)
