Falcon Rock gets good shade with only the routes on the side of the boulder receiving marginal sun in the afternoon. Routes are not well sheltered from the rain.
The crag has a good spread of routes from beginner friendly slabs to crimpy, technically challenging test-pieces. The very quartzitic rock is slick where it has no features making this style tough for those not used to it.
The base is quite comfortable and sports a few hammock spots amongst the trees. There is a bathroom at the Falcon Rock reception.
The crag is reached by following a prominent jeep track left of the reception. Walk through a gum forest for about 5-10 minutes, the path will steepen and bank right and after a few more metres Falcon Rock will appear on your left.
