Krakadouw is the least populated venue in the Cedereberg. The approach is long (but not as strenous as Tafelberg). The weather is trecherous and there is not fantastic shelter during rain. Despite this the routes are bold on super compact rock and take you through the history of bold climbing. Even today King Kong and Gorilla Grooves are big outings. Australopithecus is a world class outing.
You are following in the footsteps of Cape Town hardmen. Dick, Cheesemond, de Klerck, February, Versfeld and the adopted Birkett. Route names follow a trajectory from ape and one day hopefully we will reach Homo Sapiens.
