From Upper Africa Ledge scramble up the Africa Cracks pitch, (23m '12') consisting of three recesses, each about 8m high. Stance on a small ledge below the deep chimney.

Route Description

1. 35m '25': Level with the base of the chimney, traverse right and swing up onto the arete. Climb the face to level with the top of the chimney. Do a thin move to a rail, then tend towards the arete. Climb this tending right, to finish on the point of the arete and crossing the Africa Cracks traverse midway. Extra cams are useful.

An easy pitch up and right leads to the Africa Corner abseils.
