Looking from the junction of Africa and Fountain Ledges, a crack at the base of the right-hand skyline is seen. A short distance after, the path swings left to the scramble which leads to the higher Fountain Ledge.

1. 10m '10': Climb up the knobbly stepped crack to a ledge.
2. 10m '10': Climb the next small face and traverse left into a chamber, with a grey and white wall, under the large overhang.
3. 14m '10': Climb up onto the top of the block which is under the roof of the overhang, and dassie crawl beyond the end of the overhang. Stand up and climb the easy crack. 'The rope always gets jammed on this pitch.'
4. 15m '11': Move left to twin cracks. Climb the left-hand one for about 5/6 meters and then
move out right for 3m and continue up to a ledge at the base of the gendarme.
5. 10m '10': Climb to the top of the gendarme.
6. 15m'12': From the gendarme traverse right, all the way around the corner until able to climb up to an exposed crack. Continue up to a ledge.
From here a few scramble sections over sometimes loose-ish rock gets one to the cable station.
